SBA Announces Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show

SBA Announces Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show

Expands My Brother’s Keeper with national college tour throughout 2015

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration kicks off the Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show this week in Atlanta, Georgia.  The road show, which is a national tour of Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), will engage students and raise awareness about the possibilities of entrepreneurship, expose them to the available programs and resources and educate them on how to move from business idea to start-up.

“Millennials are born to be entrepreneurs.  They grew up with the Internet.  They’re the largest generation in our country, the most diverse and the most educated.  More than half of millennials say they are interested in starting their own business,” said SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet.  “SBA’s Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show is going to visit college campuses across America to show them how.  Our expert counselors can help students on the path to entrepreneurship so they can harness their talents to support themselves and our economy.”

SBA’s Millennial Road Show is a part of SBA’s “My Brother’s Keeper Initiative”, a Presidential priority to ensure that all young people have opportunities to improve their life outcomes and overcome barriers to success.   SBA’s initiative will focus on outreach and education to help America’s millennials improve their entrepreneurial skills and pave the way to encourage the next wave of entrepreneurs.   It is a call-to-action as part of the President’s new economic opportunity agenda for millennials to establish new strategies that support this generation.

The Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show will include SBA Millennial Trep Day events in several cities throughout the country.  The first SBA Millennial Trep Day will take place at Atlanta University Center (AUC) on Feb. 27, from 11 am to 3 pm.  Each event will feature a day of intensive entrepreneurship immersion, interactive breakout sessions, speakers, resource panels and networking opportunities with business mentors. All events are free and open to the public.

Five cities have been confirmed for SBA Millennial Trep Day:

Atlanta, Ga.

Los Angeles, Calif.

Miami, Fla.

St. Louis, Mo.

D.C. Metro

Additional information on upcoming SBA Millennial Trep Day events for each city will be announced.  To learn more about SBA’s Millennial Entrepreneurs Road Show, please visit www.sba.gov.

Whatever It Takes Network is for entrepreneurs, business owners, go-getters, startups, sales organizations, and success-minded people that want to control where they get their news and their solutions.

This channel is for those that refuse to be spectators and demand to be in control of the content they receive, understanding that the outcomes of life are literally the thoughts that you consume. I conceived this network because so many people tell me they are sick of watching television delivering bad news, the next crisis, or threats that are driven by political agendas, forced to perpetuate lies on one side and please advertisers on the other. For six minutes you hear about the travesties of the world, then for three minutes at the break, Big Pharma convinces you that depression is a disease and if you aren’t depressed something else is sure to be wrong with you.

On Whateverittakesnetwork.com you will find coverage of topics like advertising, branding, business, career, education, entrepreneurs, finance, investing, money, marriage, network marketing, real estate, small business, startups, venture capital and more, delivered by over twenty superstar experts and guests. All media is going digital. Just this month it was reported that digital media ad spend is now bigger than national TV advertising and will surpass total TV ads by 2018. Mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers are now replacing television sets where the consumer can access a sporting event, music, news feeds and read one of my articles at Entrerpreneur.com, WellsFargo.com or EliteDaily.com all at the same time! NBC recently reported that over 70% of their live content is consumed online. Netflix and Hulu are taking monster market share from NBC, CBS and ABC with millions of Americans replacing their cable provider with online channels.

Consider the last time you watched a ball game at home, tweeted about it with me @grantcardone from your phone, while receiving an instant message from your spouse for the grocery list. Multi-tasking explodes with the advent of technology, wireless internet and cloud-based storage. Eight hundred television channels made up of cable and major networks, all trying to survive by ad dollars, are now forced to get eyeballs in order to maintain ad revenue. But those 800 channels are delivering their agendas on their schedules, so you can understand why Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, YouTube and the like are taking market share from traditional mediums.

Today’s consumer wants to consume what they want when they want. Just as importantly, there exist growing numbers of people realizing that in order to succeed you must be in control of what you take into your mind. The late Maya Angelou said, “You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there.” Gandhi said, “A man is the product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes.”

Where do the people of the world get their information from today? And what is that information? Turn the TV or radio on and you will see and hear threats of crisis, war, shortages, disease, economic scares, fear, division, racism, hate, and failure. I refuse to play either a television or a radio in the presence of either of my children, because I know it is effectively destroying the hopes of man and the paths they will take. This is what has driven me to create a nimble network that delivers positive programming. I created Whatever It Takes Network to create an alternative place for people to get their ideas, news, strategies and information from. I want to provide people with the content they want when they want it and provide them with solutions, not just problems.

Whatever It Takes Nation is for those that want to know that what they are being told is the truth. They want simple answers to the challenges we all face in the world of business, finance, career and success. I hope you will join me as we launch this new network.

We are always looking to expand our list of experts and guests for Whatever It Takes Nation, so if you know of someone that is a proven resource have them reach out to us at info@whateverittakesnetwork.com.
